Huw grew up in the Sirhowy Valley just outside of Cardiff. Having finished top of his class in Geology at Tertiary College, Huw went on to the University of Glamorgan to study Astronomy and Geology. Realising his passion for Astronomy, Huw then graduated with an Honours degree in Astronomy and Space Science in 2006. Later, he joined Techniquest Science Centre as a Science Communicator and Presenter before starting work at Science Made Simple in July of 2007. He now runs his own business in Science Communication, Consultancy, Tranining and Shows as well as working with other creative freelancers to deliver in fields as varied as photography, presentations, science, graphic design and sports!

Huw enjoys most sports; he is an avid adventurer and self proclaimed craze seeker! He has Rock Climbed for over 10 years and now Snowboards wherever he can find snow. Surfing and Biking are also in his repertoire, but the same can be said for most sports in the dictionary.
As well as running his own business, he still freelances for Science Made Simple, Techniquest, Boulders Climbing and plays an active role in the following: Science Café in Cardiff; British Science Association South Wales Branch and has just finished a term on the General Committee and was previously a Welsh Climate Advocate for the British Council.
